What's Going On!
I’ve got some exciting events to plan and share for 2023. I look forward to offering my skillsets to help less experienced and/or lower income paddlers acquire assistance and instruction for free. Multi-day hand paddle clinics, roll clinics, skill building and beginner fundamental instruction are a few things I’m planning to offer come spring, summer and fall. Please check this page often to see what’s going on and reserve your spot.
Hand Paddle Clinic #2
My second Hand Paddle Clinic is coming up and i’m excited to share! This will be a progression from my first Hand Paddle Clinic for those that attended. I’m planning to offer free intermediate hand paddle techniques and instruction before our river journey and during the down river engagement.
We’ll be reviewing the wet exit and roll for starters, once everyone is feeling comfortable and safe we will head down river to continue learning one rapid at a time. I plan to focus on critical river moves: ferries, eddy hopping, peel outs, s-turns, attainments and boofs.
We will meet at the Tuckasegee River pending levels and attendees river comfort. I plan to offer hand paddles to demo and use for those paddlers that haven’t purchased a set or might be interested in my hand paddle designs.
I’m targeting the 3rd weekend of June, 2023 (Saturday, 6/17 or Sunday 6/18) pending water level, weather and participant availability. We can all decide as a group what is best for everyone.

I’m targeting the 4th weekend of April, 2023 (Saturday, 4/22 or Sunday, 4/23). I’m open to either day pending water level, water temperature, weather and participant availability. We can all decide as a group what is best for everyone.
